To reflect that spirit, the client requested a multi-cultural maximalist design to honor the communities that had supported her through her journey.
Drawing on my personal connection to the client, I centered the branding around the visual motif of an alter — a common cultural space many non-Western households create to honor the past and heritage.

INFLUENCES
Based on the photography that was sent the 1st Draft, while keeping true to the visual motif of a familial alter, didn't feel multi-cultural enough.
The client feeling similar, we brainstormed specific cultural elements that shaped her Texas experience for a new draft.

The final design combined elements like the Vietnamese and Texan flags, layered with Catholic-inspired halos and radiant sunbursts, echoing the ornate style of Latin “veladoras.”
This fusion created a visual narrative that celebrated her roots, her activism, and the tapestry of cultures that shaped her work.

We extended this visual identity into the live show by creating custom candles and stickers for sale, then carried the aesthetic over to social media through Instagram posts and stories to unify the brand across touchpoints.
